Before my wife would be climbing over the couch or crawling on the floor behind an end table to plug in the lights… NOW from ONE single device she is able to manage things sitting on the couch, not climbing over it!!

It basically offers convenience. The small remote can be mounted in a central location or carried on a key chain so that the designated lights be turned before entering the house or a room. Very pleased and would purchase again.

I rigged mine up so I have them one in my bedroom, one of parent’s room, and one in the living room. Each has a surge protector connected to it. The wireless works very well, just push one button and it turns on/off. They look very very nice as well, they aren’t too big or anything, they fit perfectly. The only bad thing is the red light always stays on when it’s on/off which is kind of stupid. They should have put a green light when it’s on and red light when it’s off. Not a huge deal, just trying to figure out why. It comes with everything you need to hook it up and your good to go. For the price, I assume this item will pay for itself probably in like 6 months, maybe even less. For the price and ease of use, I definately recommend this product.

I used this to put some cfl lights on top of my kitchen cabinets for a night light without having the kitchen lights ,5 recessed, on all the time. can turn them on and off with the remote from my chair in the living room so I only use the light when I need to go in the kitchen for my nightly snack. if you have a use for a remote light somewhere in your house this is the product to get. I’m ordering another one for another area in my house. It has 4 frequencies so you could have 4 sets . Highly recommended.

It was not so when I plugged a unit into a two wire outlet. The action was erratic. I believe the third wire may act as an antenna, grounded though it is. This may be why a few reviewers had trouble. If all else fails, read the fine instructions!

I’ve only used one receiver but it works great. Simple to use… Plug the receiver in the wall and plug your electronics into it. I’m going to use mine for lights in my plant shelf and above my cabinets. Saves you from having to wire a switch down the wall, and the battery is very easy to change out. (Apparently they must have changed it from previous posts.)There is a little drawer that slides into the bottom of the remote, just slide it out and change it and slide it back in. Now I’ve seen mult strips at Lowes that have the remote with them and they run for $35 to $45 each, I figure if I want to turn an entire row off I’ll just plug a mult Strip into this, it’s grounded too for safety. I’m even considering getting a second one.

We use them for our bedroom lights and it’s wonderful not being able to see when you go get in bed rather than turning the lights off and then trying to find your bed!!!

A handicapped resident came to me and told me she was having trouble reaching the switch on her living room lamps from her wheelchair. So I did a little research on the web and the Stanley product came up and it was available at Amazon. The price was right and the resident thinks I’m a genius.

We have a hard to reach light plugged into one base and a lamp in the front room can be turned on in the event of a “bump in the night” The only con is that the base does not have a switch itself. It can only be activated with with the remote.

The only thing I do not like about the remote is the fact the you have to pull a little antenna out of the top in order to get the best reception. This tends to make it feel like an RC car remote or something. Other then that its a great product that I use in my home theater to control the lighting.

His playroom is on the lower level of our house and unfortunately there’s only 1 ceiling light for his playroom which is at the bottom of the stairs so the rest of the playroom remains dark unless you brave the dark to find the various lamps in the room and turn them on…watch out for any rogue toys left on the floor. With this device he can now illuminate his entire playroom before he walks downstairs. He loves it!!!

Like other reviewers I too thought the key chain was a bit of a waste because I wouldn’t attach it to my keys nor would I wear it using the belt clip. Having said that, I put 2 screws in the wall next to the light switch and hung the remote there so that way we always know where it is.

Bottom line, this is a great product and has made my son very happy…now if only he would stop playing with the buttons, lol.

The remote that was shipped with my unit DOES NOT use the A23 battery which others have referred to (and which I would have preferred). The remote requires one of those round thin wafer type batteries. Can’t understand the brain trust which decided to make the remote so small or for a keychain. I used velcro and stick the remote in my desired vertical position.

It was so easy to use w/o reading any instructions. The best thing is that I don’t need to be close to turn it on/ff. As for the key chain complain, it does not bother me since I only place it on table top. Would be nice if it is detachable but it does not worth a strike on a star rating because it works exactly what I need. I chose this over other brand because it is by Stanley and the price is reasonable. Already used all 3 remotes so I may need to buy another in near future.

Unlike my old ones these have an “on off” switch on the unit as well as the remote. I recommend getting the one foot extension cables. They are inexpensive and necessary since the wall unit takes up more then the space of one outlet. I haven’t really seen any that are small in size so this seems the best solution. Received them- hooked them up and everything worked perfectly. As others have said these are not on/off. The remote has a button for each unit that switches the state. On to off and off to on. There is no way to tell which way you are switching without seeing the light or knowing if the unit is on or off. Since I am switching lights this is not a problem. Well made and work well. Recommend

If you are not in a position to actually see the lights turn on or off, it can be hard to know if you just toggled it. I had no problems with the reach of the remote control. Our house is 1,400 sq. ft. and this toggled all the lights in all portions of the house.

One in the bedroom on the night stand for 3lamps, one in the kitchen for 3 lamps,one in the living room for 3 lamps and the last in the guest room for 2 lamps. You can turn all the lights in the dark and not worry about tripping in the dark. I even have a spare for the Xmas lights and decorations.

Frankly, I love options and functionality and these remote controlled outlets served the bill. Affordable, reliable. Yes, on both counts. Integrating LED with old school effects — even better.

Once I got it out of the blister pack(I hate those things!)and plugged everything in it was great! Worked as advertised! I don’t get the keychain remote though. The remote is a little on the cheap/flimsy side too. I will have to see how it holds up. For now all is well and working. Highly recommended.

He keeps the remote right by his bed and with a click, everything is OK.The product works right out of the box.The only thing to watch out for is a slider at the base of the remote to change the channel the signal broadcasts on.This is not really a problem with the product, but more of the situation it is used for in my case, since 4-year-olds tend to fidget with buttons. So check that first if it stops working for any reason.

They do work but…range is short , maybe under 10 feet even with sntenna up. Have to push button more than once or hold down.

It is RF rather than IR signal so it will function even when there is no direct line of sight between the transmitter and the remote socket modules. So, great for hidden plugs which is exactly what you buy it to do.

Like – small, easy to use transmitter,units not over bulky so they don’t block all the other sockets on a power strip ( will block 2 including the one it’s plugged in to ) and they work as described. Reasonable price.

I bought a set for myself while living in a crappy house in NC with no light switches for outlets– I got tired of getting up to turn on rocker switches at the base of my thai bamboo/fabric lamps. The module is kind of big and an outlet killer for two outlet modules, once plugged in the other outlet is dead!

This set I bought for my parents who are 69 & 84 respectively. For ease of turning on and off lights around the house these modules are well used! Great gift for all ages….a lot cheaper than the app version of these.

Only con is the batter A123 not listed in the instructions, only place I found that sells them near home is Walmart. FYI make a not of that!!

I’m old enought to remember when we had to get up out of the chair and walk across the room to change channels (between our choice of three offerings). So when I bought this great little set, I never dreamed that life would get even better. We have three lights in our living room, with none of them controlled by a wall switch, each plugged into a standard three prong outlet. Each light has an individual switch. Now I have inserted one of these little jewels as the jam in the sandwich between the outlet and the light’s power cord, set the switches of all three to on, and I can turn them on and off individually with the simple press of a button. My indolence runneth over, and my retirement just got a whole lot better! Seriously, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

The range is very good. The only drawback is the size of the outlet “receiver”. It’s at least 2 inches deep and then the electrical plug goes into the front of it which means it adds another inch or so of depth. The result is having my credenza a little farther away from the wall than I would prefer. Having the plug on the side of the box would help out. Other than that, we love them.

I have 4 lamps spread around my living room and it’s a huge pain to walk around turn them on and off every time I come and go. These work perfectly for that purpose. The remote has never failed and it turns on instantly. My only complaint is that the units are pretty big (so big that it covers up the other plug on the outlet) and not terribly attractive. Not a huge deal, and still totally worth it for me, but it might bug you if you’re super into design details.

One is used for an interior close light and one for an attic fan. X10 relays work over longer distances because they send the signal in the electrical wire. These use RF and need to be closer in order to work but they are more consistent than the X10s and less expensive.

This is the 2nd set of these outlet remotes we’ve purchased. It’s a small but very pleasant luxury to remain relaxed & comfortable while remotely controlling lighting as well as the ability to occasionally reboot, when performance lags, our internet devices including cable modem, network switch, wifi routers, Roku & Apple TV.

I can now walk into the room, take my remote and turn everything on and off with just a push of the romote. Pretty cool…I have all my stuff plugged into surge protectors and those plugged into the remote..I guess you think I am lazy but these are just easy at a push of the finger..no more crawling around before and after I do my quilting. I can shut everything down fast if I want to take a break and not forget to turn things off..I like them..Good buy.

I used one for outdoor Christmas lights and another for indoor, hard to reach, areas. They worked fine from just about anywhere in the house. The only reason that I didn’t give them a 5-star rating is their bulkiness, which may be necessary to remain a good product. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

It was wonderful to be able to turn them off and on from the master bedroom. I’m now trying to decide if I want to use it for lamps during the rest of the year.

My only complaint is that the default setting should be on, not off. For example, the outlet I’m using is switched. When I turn the lights back on via the wall switch, I also have to hit the remote switch.

The set works great, with exceptionally good range & “through the wall” properties. As has been noted by other reviewers, the wall outlet receivers are very big and bulky. They’re not particularly ugly, but they definitely take up more than their fair share of space on an outlet, outlet surge protector, etc., which means you’ll quite likely have a problem using all available places to plug in to a given outlet

The remote works through walls and floors. I can activate the outlets on the second floor of my one bedroom apartment while I’m on the first floor and vice versa. Unlike some outlet controls, these are silent. The devices can be controlled manually at the outlet. It is awesome to have a remote control for lights.

This, plus another system of 3 remotes, rendered the chore of turning on/off all of our Christmas lights to be a snap. Couldn’t be happier. If they wear out or break, I’ll just buy some more.

Works great. These button remotes are the best. So convenient to turn on and off multiple lights. Highly recommend for every household!

We needed something to turn two lights, which were on opposite sides of a large room, off and on at the same time as we moved from one scene to the next. I knew there had to be something out there that would work. I went to Amazon. I figured that, if anyone had it, Amazon would. Another member of the crew had found a less expensive remote control through a different company. It was the reviews, which made the difference. I would not have known that some remotes only worked within very short distances and that there had to be a direct line to the device. That is not what we needed. The reviews sold me on this remote control. It performed perfectly.

I am going to buy another set and hope that it works separately from what I already have.

These are rated at 10 Amps which is twice as much as my last set. My last set had only 3 outlets and one doesn’t always work. So I’m really happy that this set actually works.

These work very nicely for our indoor Christmas lights. No more straining to get to the outlet to pull out the plug that is typically hidden by a bookshelf, instrument, kitchen appliance, or what have you.

These new units work great as they are wireless. Hooked up all 5 and they work. All for about the price of one of the x-10 plugs. Two notes – the units are large. And, the remote looks like on/off switches. In reality, they are a toggle. If the light is on, it goes off. If the light is off, it goes on. So, it is important that you can see or hear whatever is plugged into these. Each of the 5 have their own switch. We can turn 5 Christmas trees on or off in about 3 seconds.

Great deal though. Might get some more.

I was tired of going around turning on and off the lights in my living room and now with a couple clicks viola, let there be light! The only con would be the size of the outlet boxes are a little big but I would recommend this to anyone.

This allows me to unplug and start the printer back up without leaving my laptop and going to another room. I can also turn several fans and lights on and off from across the house.

This product now allows us to turn off all the lamps from the front door instead of walking all around the store. However it does not work so great through walls or over 60ft away. Otherwise it’s an amazing product!

For those who are disabled this is a Godsend. Occasionally you may have to hit the buttons a few times before lights go on, but those times are few and far between. I have many througout my home and couldn’t think of ever being without them, they truly are a great convenience.

My wife and I are in our late 70′s and don’t bend and stoop as well as we use to. However she loves to decorate and uses lamps all over the house as well as some indirect lighting that plugs in. we have approx 15 different lamps and lights that we turn on and off at night (Sounds like a tall tale but it is true)

I installed these switches and by using strips and hidden extension cords got most of the lights in three rooms on the five switches. Now we can sit in our easy chair and turn off and on the lights in three different rooms. We just ordered two sets for a friend who is older and has the same problem and one more set for us.
