Awesome DSI Outlet Wireless Remote!

FYI, if they are unpowered the default is for them to shut off when you restore power to the plug, so you have to use the remote to get the lights, etc, working. I use them to individually control lights that otherwise would all go on at the same time, but I shut the power to the outlets off when not in use.

I am very happy with my purchase. Wife was not convinced but she now appreciates not have to manoeuvre behind the furniture to turn on /off the light. I told her we needed this gadget – I was right ! (for a change!)

Then I decided to buy this one. I’m glad I did. This one is built more sturdy and so easy to use. I can be quite a distance away from the light source and it goes on right away when I click my remote control. I am very, very pleased with this set. I’m going to order the 5 pack right after I’m done with this review.

Now, we can turn both on and off with the simple click of a button on a remote. The third outlet is used for our TV set up, because it saves energy to cut all of those electronics off while not in use. The buttons turn on the outlets with no delay; we even tricked a few friends and family by making it seem like it was voice controlled with the remote in our pockets.

They nearly block out the other plug in the outlet. Kind of inconvenient. But, they function nicely. I have 3 different lamps plugged into these units, and I can use the single remote to turn them off or on. Kind of neat! The remote is nice and small, but those wall units are ridiculously huge. I’ve had a remote-switch set before that wasn’t nearly as cumbersome as these are. But, it does work just fine.

I was in need of a light switch, since my apartment is not equipped with ceiling lights, much less wall-mounted light switches. I needed to be able to turn on lights without having to cross a darkened room tripping over furniture. The DSI Outlet’s remote activated outlets came in super handy. Especially since I can plug a power strip into the outlet and be able to switch off several things at once. Also it gives me the ability to be able to remotely activate lights in other rooms as I move from one to the other; very useful when shutting things down for the evening.

So I bought it. After it arrived, I admired it’s appearance, it looked sturdy and carried through the U safety grounding principle. So I put it to work. It did not false trigger, but reliably turned remote items on and off just as I had desired. I then congratulated myself on just having one of the best purchases of my life. house and just loves it. Now if she could only control me….

Amazing for the Elderly or Kids

Of course they loved them. No one had ever seen them before and as I gave the gifts and each person mentioned different uses for them. The bedroom lights. The christmas lights. These did come with the battery for the remote.

She was unable to turn on floor lamp and radio. We plugges her radio and lamp into these guys and it works amazing. You don’t even have to point the remote in the dirction of the outlet. Works anywhere from within her studio apartment. The down side is that you can’t plug anything into the second outlet because this device plugs into one plug and covers up part of the second. I put a little sticky note on the bottom of the remote to indcate what each button would turn on.

This product is the REAL DEAL! Note, some like these come in bigger packs (like w/ 2 remotes, or with 5 wall units controlled by 1 remote instead of 3 units… so you might want to try this brand in a bigger money saving pack for if it suits your needs better.

With these outlets, as soon as I walk into the apartment I can use the remote to turn on a light and it is so far working quite well.

I rated it 4 stars mainly because the outlets are very bulky and if plugging directly into a wall outlet, it will take up enough space to block the other outlet. Also, I received one defective outlet; the remote didn’t work unless I held it less than an inch away from the outlet. Luckily I only needed two outlets for my apartment.

Have specific appliances I like to be able to control remotely at night. Works well with appliances even when they are in a room 40 feet away between doors and walls. The battery is not a standard 2A or 3A so when that runs out I won’t have another battery lying around to replace it. Other than the battery, it was a good buy. Amazon delivers again. They get my order right and it arrives when they promise.

The wall switch activates one outlet but that wasn’t enough to light my tiny dark room. These are GREAT bc I can have three separate lamps in my room and turn them on individually. Love love love this product!

lights to this. This year I bought her 2 more. I color coded each set because each set works on its own frequency. Now she’s controlling things all over the house and just loves it. Now if she could only control me….

Nice Range, Simple Functionality, Overly Large Plug Modules

The only issue I have is with the receiver that plugs into the wall outlet. One, it is extremely large, you aren’t able to plug two of them into the same outlet and they protrude 2 inches away from the wall (I was not able to put it behind a couch); and two, if it isn’t plugged directly into the wall (I put one of mine onto a power strip so I can still use the outlet) the signal is significantly weaker. I used to be able to turn on this light from over 20 feet away in another room when the receiver was plugged directly into the wall, now I have to be within 5 feet with the remote pointed in the direction of the receiver while pushing the button repeatedly to get the light to turn on.

Basically, just keep in mind that you will be utilizing an entire outlet with this device. Otherwise it is a very handy thing to have.

I’ve never had the remote not work because it’s out of range, so that’s good. The remote doesn’t have any indication whether your devices are on or off, but this isn’t an issue because I can just look at the tree and see.

You can also turn on and off the devices from the front of the plugs, which comes in handy if you misplace your remote.

Every apartment I’ve lived in has zero overhead lighting in the living room and bedrooms. Remote control outlets were the perfect solution. I just leave the switch on the lamp on all the time and control the power with the remote. No more feeling my way to the lamp. This would also be great for a hard to reach outlet that turned something like the christmas tree lights on.

I really love this device, especially at this price point. The simply work, and they have worked flawlessly. The only issue is their size. They are annoyingly large. But I do my best to hide them from being visible.

A surprising annoyance that I never considered is that when you want to turn off your light, it’s actually more work to remember where the remote was last placed than it is to know where the light switch is. But it’s worth that small inconvenience. I just leave it on the coffee table…usually!

Out of all of her presents she liked this stupid thing the best. She hooked her tacky lights to this. This year I bought her 2 more. I color coded each set because each set works on its own frequency. Now she’s controlling things all over the house and just loves it. Now if she could only control me….

Amazing Device, Easy to Use.

I bought some a few months ago and love them so much I had to buy more! It’s so handy being able to control all the lamps in the living room and through to the sun room without getting off the couch! And with a King size bed I don’t have to get up to turn off the lights I can’t reach after I’m done reading and nodding off to sleep. It especially means a lot when you have hip and knee issues. I have had no trouble with them, they work perfectly and the signal is not easily blocked by furniture or what-so. I highly recommend :)Shipping was quick as well.

Worked great. Was able to plug in and then use remote to turn on and off instead of having to plug and unplug lights all the time. I had no problems with range or anything else. The only small negative I would say is the unit that you plug into the wall is rather large (about 4-6 inches tall, 1-2 inches thick).

With this remote and the three switches you can sit back and relax when you need to turn on or off a light. Ever forget to turn off a light in the kitchen after making a sandwich or snack? Even if you are already in another room and eating just click the button and its taken care of. Do yourself a favor though, don’t misplace the remote:)

This is an excellent product and works very well. While other reviewers are complaining that the battery is not provided and the button is hard to press, I have found the battery provided in the box and the button to be very responsive. The range is amazing and I never had hard time to turn on/off any light remotely. I also like that the local outlet units have their own on/off switch so I don’t have to run around the house to find the remote to turn on/off my light. The only gripe is the size, it is huge and when plugged in to the wall, it blocks the access to the other outlet as well. So maybe the manufacture could make it more compact.

With a wired switch, say your appliance is on and the power cuts out, then your appliance cuts out too (naturally), but when the power comes back on, so does your appliance. In the same sequence of events with a wireless switch, your appliance does NOT come back on—you have to activate the switch to turn it back on. This could make a difference if you’re using a remote switch in conjunction with a motion sensor.

3 Outlets with 1 Remote is the easiest and the coolest product we’ve purchased in a long time. Just think about signage on your wall up 10 feet from the floor that you can turn on with a remote! How cool is that? pies.

Great Product, Just as Described.

It takes an uncommon battery size, but I found it easily at the store. I actually velcroed the remote to the wall, so it wouldn’t get lost, and use it as a switch. It’s one of the coolest things ever! It’s sure easier than wiring a ceiling light with a switch or a switch to an outlet. Would recommend this seller and this product!

We plugged everything into the outlets and we can turn on 3 different trees and all the decorations out in the sunroom without having to go out and plug them all in one at a time. In my opinion THEY ARE GREAT.

My order arrived quickly and contained one remote with battery, and three outlets. I tried all three outlet right away and they did all work just as described. In fact, I just tested the remote from outside on the opposite side of my house and it STILL WORKED. Yes, the outlets are rather large, but I’m not sure why you couldn’t just use an extension cord if the space is tight. I would definitely recommend this product.

So far they are working perfectly fine. It’s so much easier tuning everything off/on w/these than running around the house to plug/unplug all the millions of thing I have to light up. The only downside, which has been mentioned in other comments is the size of the outlet, they are very large. Even though you only plug it into one outlet, it covers both outlets up, which is a pain b/c you end up running extra extension cords to everything.

I use all three outlets to power three floor lamps and one bankers table lamp. When I’m out of my home I leave the remote by the front door and sometimes take it with me if I plan on returning soon. I thoroughly enjoy being able to enter a lit living room without fumbling. When viewing my home theater I can adjust my lighting without having to cross the room. Glad I took a chance on this device. I also don’t have to worry about sounds from my entertainment system or visitors shutting off any of the outlets.

I have used them for hard to reach lamps. I would have liked the plug insertion to be on the side and not the front because of placement in back of furniture. I wanted to use one on a stairwell behind a narrow chest and could not becuase the chest then stuck out too far from the wall.

I’ve replaced three separate ‘key fob’ controls with a single remote. I’ve had it for a couple of years and have had no problems with it. It would be nice if it had a dohickey on it to allow me to hang it – but it is otherwise perfect.

Not a single issue with the functionality. I use them in a relatively large room to power a fan, a light, and a space-heater. The only issue that puts my review at 4/5 is the size of the unit: I’ve been unable to plug-in another cord into any of the outlets it occupies.

Fantastic! Shame So Many Companies Stopped Making Them

He has a hard time getting around so a remote for the outlets makes his day go a lot smoother. He has more than one set of these and so far we have no issues with clicking the remote on one side of the house and it affecting another…

That being said, I was somewhat skeptical at first because I was purchasing these for work as a bit of a child deterrant so we could shut things off remotely and not have to physically unplug the machines, but also to make closing up at night a little bit easier, and was pleasantly surprised.

Because of the technologies used, a fairly clear line of sight is required to shut off or turn on the plugged in devices, however in a small store like we have, that is not a problem at all. After nearly a month of use, there have been no problems at all and consider it money well spent!

there is no more bending over furniture or other hard to reach areas. This products remote even goes throuhg walls when in a differnet room and it comes with three wall units. only disappointing thing about this is that it only comes with one remote. overall very happy with this product.

This product turned out to be great! Easy to use and figure out how to use. Very inexpensive way to resolve my problems. I walk into a dark bedroom many a night. I have knee problems and going done five steps in the dark can get tricky. I was going to pay an electrician to put a motion sensored item at the top of my stairs. It turned into more money then I wanted for easy to turn on and off light. Then we thought about how every time I moved in my room the light would turn on.

So, I went to Amazon and found this set of three remote control assistance clicker. I put one on a light near my bed, my desk and near the path to the restroom. My grandchildren can hardly wait for night time in my bedroom. Now my problem is which grandchild gets to use the clicker when all three are around! Oh, I carry the clicker in my purse when I leave and near my bed when i am already in my bedroom. Great Product!

No worry or concern of electrical shock since no occupant comes in contact with harmful electric forces since the remote control is powered by a low voltage battery. Installation is as simple as plugging the module into a 120 volt receptacle then plugging the lighting, fan, appliance, etc into that module. Kit will operate up to 3 different circuits. Ofcourse you need to remember to keep the modules or the actual powered appliance/ lighting from coming into contact with pets or people if you are working in wet or potentially damp locations. Since the remote is battery powered you could safely control the moduled circuits while you are bathing or in a hot-tub but I would surmise this could result in a short life, due to high moisture exposure; especially if submerged, of the remote.
