Very Good with Room for Improvement

You can adjust the cost per kwh. I sit next to mine at the computer to see my much of an energy hog it is. It shows I’m spending $12 a month to run my rig. I have all kind of things connected to it. Has a long cord to reach the desktop. Detects vampirism, too.

It is super easy to use. My issue as other customers is the lack of different times available that one can set it on such as 1hr and 2hrs. If it comes out with such a timer maybe with the luxury of a remote that would be the best. It is worth the money and it DOES save energy. I gave it 4 stars because I think it could be improved upon otherwise when one needs the times it has available 30mins 3hrs or 6hrs this is the timer to get.

That said, I wasn’t able to find much use for it on any of my electronics. You can’t use it on a computer unless you power down and turn it off, which I guess you “should” do, except that I access my computer remotely, or throughout the day, etc. Same with my stereo, which I do turn off when not in use… A good number of my electronics also have memory functions and need to remain powered in order to keep their timing or pre-programmed info, etc..

You could use it for things like lamps that you don’t turn on frequently,, but then you’d need a dozen of these for your house, and with that investment you’d not save much money of the course of the year. If you use a curling iron or clothes iron (or similar) and have a habit of leaving it on, that might be a good use, although I’d argue you should just leave yourself a Post-It or something and just unplug it…

If you have a stereo system or other “energy sucker” that doesn’t store programmed channels or other info, I’d suggest a multi-plug solution, which it also sells. This one seems too limited for me.

For me the only thing that makes sense (read: interested in) is the dollar amount. After a quick run through the instructions, I found this device to be rather simple to use. Basically you plug it in an outlet, plug your device into the Belkin outlet, and the display quickly gives you a reading. The Belkin Conserve Insight displays readings as a years usage or a month, and also averages it for you when used for 45 minutes. You’ll have to program the KWH by looking at your latest utility bill, but it’s simple enough.

Overall I guess I had nothing to fear, the device is fairly simple to understand, but you’ll have to spend a couple minutes reading the instructions and programing the wattage to get an accurate reading. I just wish the device also displayed the impact of an hour of usage.

I Reccomend to Keep One In Your Vehicle for Coming and Going So Your Able to Control the Lighiting

They work great! I previously purchased a remote control outlet from Lowes for the same price and it came with only one switch. This is a better deal.

I spent over $200 on other brands that didn`t work. It works at a great distance. It uses a 9v and that`s the reason I only gave it four stars and it it`s so large it covers both outlets. It should only use two AA batteries. 9vs are expensive. The prongs are strong that hold in the batteries. Mine came with 2 remotes that work independently. The dude that dropped his is blaming the company for his error. The other review complained about the metal clips. The clips are strong and do the job. I bought a multi plug outlet and snapped it in and then plugged the remote in sideways. That left room for another outlet. It works through walls also. This is a quality product and I don`t believe the negative reviews. There`s enough positive reviews to back it up. Keeping the product and getting a refund is a multi billion dollar scam. I dropped mine on a tile floor and it still worked. Had to pop the cover back on. update-had this for awhile and it still works good. The cover is looser on one remote than I like so just used a piece of tape. It is the best I have ever found.

This is not an issue with this set, one press of the remote and the module turns on / off my devises, good range, easy to use, better current rating, 10 amp / 1200 watts verses my other set which was 5 amp / 600 watts. Two remotes add convience, if I forget to turn off a light, she can turn it off with her own remote.

I am using this in a home automation project so I needed an on command AND an off command. The buttons on this remote are made to look like they are on and off, but they are only one button. This means it only sends one signal. The outlet just switches state when it receives a signal.

I suffer from hot flashes, so I have a few of these throughout the house with fans plugged in. Instant on and instant off when the flash is over. Amazing!! You can actually put things in hard to get to places and use these remote outlets to turn them on and off! WONDERFUL! Friends and family have purchased after visiting and seeing them!

I bought their 3 pack system, as well as this 5 pack system, no comparison! The three pack, never ever worked unless the remote was within 3 feet of the wall socket, so I gave up on it (I only bought it because the 3 pack had smaller receivers that wouldn’t block the second wall outlet socket connection), and installed the 5 pack system, worke like a charm from day 1 and still works the same after much usage. If you want a more usable remote control light system, then buy the 5 pack, if you want to struggle with your installation, buy the 3 pack. That would be my advice to anyone thinking about using the Elekcity remote control system!

Very Handy to Use with Power Switches That Are Inconveniently Placed

I tried a G/E model of wireless light switch that I found at Target prior to getting this. That one would turn on/off at random from what I can only assume was radio frequencies either coming from other apartments or from garage door openers near me. The “rotating security code” claim was nothing but a lie.

However, I have had ZERO issues with the model. It works every time I press the button, never turns on/off from outside interference, and has performed flawlessly. I only knock it down one star due to there being a different image on the product page than what I bought. For reference, mine looks like the one that has a squarish shaped outlet with 2 buttons on it and a boxy remote control with only one button. If they were more coherent in their product info I would absolutely give it 5 stars.

Super easy to use. The remote signal works through walls and at angels. I love it and am relly glad i bought this. The switch is hard to reach, so it seemed perfect. It works well, but occasionally loses connectivity to the power under the sink and has to be switched on and off. The remote control is sturdy and not cheap or flimsy. It’s worth every penny and I would buy it again and again.

I wish the unit had a plug in the side instead of the front; if you have this behind furniture with a standard plug, the piece sticks pretty far out from the wall. The depth of the head is 1.5″, so a low profile extension cord solves that issue. Overall we’re very satisfied!

Usually, my techie gadgets get an eye roll from my spouse, but this one has gotten me a two thumbs up! She loves to be able to turn all of the accents off at night without going to each one and switching them.

You know how you wake up at night and just need a cool blast of air? Well, in the old days (last week), you had to sit up, fumble for the fan knob (they keep moving it!), turn it on, lie back down, get cool, get cold, get freezing, sit up, fumble, turn it off, lie back down, rinse, repeat, right? With this, you put the little remote (about the size of a pack of gum) under the pillow or on the nightstand and a light touch brings blessed coolth. Another tap makes it go away again. It also works for whatever other electric-y things that can be plugged in. I had a plan to surreptitiously put this on my neighbor’s living room lamp (very close proximity) and randomly turn the lights on and off. But no, wiser heads prevailed.

Great Way to Turn On/Off Lights with a Little Remote

If you don’t want to get out of bed to turn off the light when it’s chilly, or if you’re sick or have a disability that makes getting up to turn on/off lights difficult, I would recommend this item. All 3 function well, as does the remote controller. Even if the remote is not facing or pointing at the outlet, it works. Mine is plugged in behind a large piece of furniture and it still works.

The only thing I really hate about it is the huge size of the outlets – when you plug it into the wall outlet, it is so big that it partially covers the other socket, making it unusable. A power strip could remedy this. Oh, and the 12volt battery is weird. It would be easier if it used a AA or AAA but so far I have not had to replace it in 8 months of daily use.

Arrived on time, work as expected. Come in handy for hidden sockets you can’t get at. i installed strip lights in my armoir and didn’t want to have to turn 3 lights on so i plugged them all into one socket and use one of these to turn them on. i have another for a fake fireplace i don’t want to crawl on my knees to turn on every time. good for christmas lights too.

It turns the vacuum on to scare the cats when they try to wake us up in the middle of the night. The cat knew to run away when we walked up to turn on the switch so now he does not expect it. Has worked perfectly for us.

This one works every single time; I am using it to turn outside christmas lights on, which are plugged in in the garage. On a 30ft distance, through 4 walls, this one still works perfectly.

Install included batteries, plug in and you are done! I watch where my money goes, and this is one of the best investments I have made in quite some time. It works as advertised!

I could hardly do it. Unfortunately they did not serve our purpose – we bought them to use on tvs but the tvs won’t turn back on once the power has been cut and restored unless you use the remote or button on the tv.

It’s simply a modern marvel. In fact, it is my go to conversation piece whenever friends and family come over. They’re always very impressed. It’s white, you plug stuff into it and it has buttons (three I think). It also has settings and stuff I think. I mean, it could be better if it had wolves or a whale on it, so four out of five possible stars for this little gem.

Easy to use, reliable, not finicky in its functionality. Yes, the plugs are bulky, but I have other stuff plugged in beneath it and no issues there. Very happy with this purchase and it’s great if you have, say, 2 people in the same room who might independently want to control the same lights or other appliances.

Awesome DSI Outlet Wireless Remote!

FYI, if they are unpowered the default is for them to shut off when you restore power to the plug, so you have to use the remote to get the lights, etc, working. I use them to individually control lights that otherwise would all go on at the same time, but I shut the power to the outlets off when not in use.

I am very happy with my purchase. Wife was not convinced but she now appreciates not have to manoeuvre behind the furniture to turn on /off the light. I told her we needed this gadget – I was right ! (for a change!)

Then I decided to buy this one. I’m glad I did. This one is built more sturdy and so easy to use. I can be quite a distance away from the light source and it goes on right away when I click my remote control. I am very, very pleased with this set. I’m going to order the 5 pack right after I’m done with this review.

Now, we can turn both on and off with the simple click of a button on a remote. The third outlet is used for our TV set up, because it saves energy to cut all of those electronics off while not in use. The buttons turn on the outlets with no delay; we even tricked a few friends and family by making it seem like it was voice controlled with the remote in our pockets.

They nearly block out the other plug in the outlet. Kind of inconvenient. But, they function nicely. I have 3 different lamps plugged into these units, and I can use the single remote to turn them off or on. Kind of neat! The remote is nice and small, but those wall units are ridiculously huge. I’ve had a remote-switch set before that wasn’t nearly as cumbersome as these are. But, it does work just fine.

I was in need of a light switch, since my apartment is not equipped with ceiling lights, much less wall-mounted light switches. I needed to be able to turn on lights without having to cross a darkened room tripping over furniture. The DSI Outlet’s remote activated outlets came in super handy. Especially since I can plug a power strip into the outlet and be able to switch off several things at once. Also it gives me the ability to be able to remotely activate lights in other rooms as I move from one to the other; very useful when shutting things down for the evening.

So I bought it. After it arrived, I admired it’s appearance, it looked sturdy and carried through the U safety grounding principle. So I put it to work. It did not false trigger, but reliably turned remote items on and off just as I had desired. I then congratulated myself on just having one of the best purchases of my life. house and just loves it. Now if she could only control me….

Amazing Device, Easy to Use.

I bought some a few months ago and love them so much I had to buy more! It’s so handy being able to control all the lamps in the living room and through to the sun room without getting off the couch! And with a King size bed I don’t have to get up to turn off the lights I can’t reach after I’m done reading and nodding off to sleep. It especially means a lot when you have hip and knee issues. I have had no trouble with them, they work perfectly and the signal is not easily blocked by furniture or what-so. I highly recommend :)Shipping was quick as well.

Worked great. Was able to plug in and then use remote to turn on and off instead of having to plug and unplug lights all the time. I had no problems with range or anything else. The only small negative I would say is the unit that you plug into the wall is rather large (about 4-6 inches tall, 1-2 inches thick).

With this remote and the three switches you can sit back and relax when you need to turn on or off a light. Ever forget to turn off a light in the kitchen after making a sandwich or snack? Even if you are already in another room and eating just click the button and its taken care of. Do yourself a favor though, don’t misplace the remote:)

This is an excellent product and works very well. While other reviewers are complaining that the battery is not provided and the button is hard to press, I have found the battery provided in the box and the button to be very responsive. The range is amazing and I never had hard time to turn on/off any light remotely. I also like that the local outlet units have their own on/off switch so I don’t have to run around the house to find the remote to turn on/off my light. The only gripe is the size, it is huge and when plugged in to the wall, it blocks the access to the other outlet as well. So maybe the manufacture could make it more compact.

With a wired switch, say your appliance is on and the power cuts out, then your appliance cuts out too (naturally), but when the power comes back on, so does your appliance. In the same sequence of events with a wireless switch, your appliance does NOT come back on—you have to activate the switch to turn it back on. This could make a difference if you’re using a remote switch in conjunction with a motion sensor.

3 Outlets with 1 Remote is the easiest and the coolest product we’ve purchased in a long time. Just think about signage on your wall up 10 feet from the floor that you can turn on with a remote! How cool is that? pies.
