Works Well for Remote Operation of a Shop Vac Dust Collector

We can turn on 10 separate Christmas window candles in just a few seconds and without the inconvenience of visiting each location to plug or un-plug each one.

Remotes work good, through walls and at a good distance. Very convenient. It does not cover both plugs but some plugs will be too big to work with this plugged into the outlet.

When I’m using the various tools, I always attach a vacuum hose to control the dust and shavings, if the tool is set up for it. The problem is that the shop vac and the tools are often some distance apart and it’s tempting not to bother with the vac if I’m only making a few cuts or sanding a small area. There are devices such as the iVac Automated Vacuum Switch that will control a shop vac automatically when a tool is activated. The downside of this solution is that it’s expensive and only works for 110v tools. I have a mix of 110v and 220v machinery, so this won’t work for me.

So far it is working just as I expected. Either of the 2 remotes will reliably start and stop the shop vac from anywhere in the shop. I’m happy that 2 remotes come with this because I can leave one at each end of the shop and I’m never far from one.

This thing is big. I have it plugged into a Tripp Lite PS2408 Power Strip 120V 5-15R 8 Outlet 15ft Cord Vertical Metal, and unfortunately there is no way to avoid having it cover 2 of the outlets. Fortunately, that still leaves me 6 more, which is enough. I dinged it one star due to the size.

This was a pain when getting into bed or coming up the stairs. These remote switches allow light control as you walk into a room or start up the stairs. When you get in bed, you simply click off all the lights.

That’s what I like, what I don’t like is how huge the plugs can cover the whole outlet if you can’t fit it in the top outlet because of the 6 inch height. Also, a great feature would be to have a swivel plug on the backs to help better fit into small spaces by tilting.

Convenient. Simple. Senior citizens can use this product to turn lamps and appliances on and off without leaving their chair (or bed). Buy it for each senior you know. Also wonderful for Christmas lights.

I work in an electronics lab and share a fume extractor with another. This unit allows us to switch the unit, which is located behind our test stand, on and off remotely and give us each the ability to do so. The remotes of this particular model use 9v batteries so no problem finding replacements. Works great so far.

Best Remote Outlets in This Price Range

The barn is metal and over 50 feet away from the house, yet these work just fine from the comfort of the kitchen. There are 5 packs of extension cables on Amazon, so you can plug two switches into your normal outlet. There are so many options when using power bars and extension cords with these inside & outside the house. Great for Christmas lights and yard displays if you keep them out of the snow & rain.

It’s a simple setup. Push the button on the remote for the switch you want to turn on. Same to turn it off. Simple toggle circuit. The remote uses the common 12Volt 23A battery used in almost all RF remote devices now days, such as cordless door bells. It’s not IR like your TV remote.

The plugs and the remote are numbered so you can easily identify which button operates each fixture.. Also come with the battery that the remote uses. I set all 5 plugs to this wireless system in 5 min and was ready to go.. I think I will get another set for other areas.

I have used it for a long time and have had no problems with the device. However, I received the device with only one remote and not two remotes as shown in the image in the product page. This product is especially great for nights when one doesn’t want to get up to switch off an electrical appliance. The remote does not consume much battery which is surely a plus point in the long run. However, one needs to ensure that the remote is in line with the outlet to actually work but that is not much of a problem(However, this is the reason I rates this product 4). Thanks to this products life and my lazy attitude, I will surely be heading back to this seller and purchasing it again!

I wish I had thought it out a bit better… and gotten two 3 plug remotes instead of the one 5 all in all I am very glad I got these…. work very well

The pieces are well protected. At times I feel that the remote control just doesn’t work through certain materials and I have to move the remotes in a open area so they work

I was worried because some lights were upstairs and didn’t know if the remote will reach from downstairs but I guess the signal goes through anything including walls, etc… Now we can turn all the lights with few clicks instead of going up and down stairs and all over the place !

We have a beautiful foyer with three banister railings coming down to it. Every year I wrap each of the banisters in holly and lights but I am never able to come down stairs to all of them lit at one time. I normally have to run from area to area turning on all the lights.

Now with this I sit in my bedroom and click on all 5 lights before I leave my room. I come downstairs to the bannister completely lit, the tree in the living room on and even my lights in my kitchen window on. LOVE IT!! HIGHLY recommend it.

Great Item. Very Useful. Highly Recommended

i knew before that these things are usually pretty big but these are significantly bigger than the Stanley ones. Stanley 31164 Indoor Wireless Remote Control with Single Transmitter, White, 3-Pack for me this really wasn’t an issue but it basically takes up both outlets. the open outlet still has enough room for a simple plug to be plugged in but anything bigger like an iPhone charger won’t fit.

the range is good. i’ve been able to activate it from at least 30 feet without direct line of sight through dry wall. sometimes you have to press it more than once but usually works on the first click. depends on how picky you want to be.

the only down side is that it uses special 12V 23A battery so harder to replace. also the left and right buttons don’t really mean anything. you just have to hit it in the middle. one press = off; next press = on and so on.

i haven’t tried it with any heavy duty appliances so can’t speak towards how well that works but it’s rated at maximum 1200W per outlet.

even with these few negatives they don’t really bother me and they work extremely well for my purpose at this price range.

I use it with floor standing lamps with CFL bulbs when I am not using a 3 way bulb to allow for instant on instant of turning the nob 3 times. It works really well and had good range of at least 30 feet. I deducted 1 star because of the size. It is really big and essentially makes the 2nd outlet unusable unless you’re using a small, basic plug which is annoying. Also the plug on the back cannot be rotated to fit into certain outlets/spaces which would be a nice plus. If they could make this slightly smaller (like the Stanley version) and the plug able to be rotated then it would be perfect.

I have not tried 2 separate ones in the same house as the 2 I have are in 2 different homes.

The receivers are a bit larger than I had hoped but doable. Had to add a couple outlet strips. Nice to be able to control 5 outlets with one remote control. I reserved the 5th one for our yearly Christmas tree.

I use it to light up my accent LED lights behind my IMAC and my Flat Screen TV. It is very responsive. I dont even need a line of sight to operate these. I must say that it does the job well.

It is very economical and ideal to have 5 outlets and 1 remote. No need to carry multiple remotes.

I have setup 1 remote outlet to my Modem. Sometimes my kids will not stop using the internet. I just hit the switch to shutdown the modem and not the router. Meaning, they are still connected to the router but without and internet connection. :)

I highly recommend this to all. Trust me, you will definitely find a use for it. These are better models than what Home Depot and Lowes sells.

About the seller, I spoke to them on the phone and they are very professional, polite and most importantly, they listen. I hope everybody is like this seller. I called them to tell them how satisfied we are with this product.

I will definitely buy again from this seller.

Better Than Previous Remotes

Usually, my techie gadgets get an eye roll from my spouse, but this one has gotten me a two thumbs up! She loves to be able to turn all of the accents off at night without going to each one and switching them.

Good for use with only one appliance but if you want to use it to work additional appliances you should order the 3 or 5 pack ones. Works as described. Attached the remote to the wall over the light switch. Works great and everyone says they like the ambience in my office.

I don’t understand the logic to have 1 unit switched by a button on top of the other and the other 2 side by side (see remote). This is fixed with the 5 units version.

Knocked off one star for the on/off lettering starting to come off within 3 weeks and despite the new “smaller” shape only the smallest of plugs will fit in the socket below, because the round bottom shape partially blocks the outlet below. Someone was more interested in appearance than function. Would buy again but suggest the issue a re rectified.

Only issue I have with it is the size of each outlet switch. It blocks off half the type of adapters you can use for the other outlet. It works even if you control the units from the other room!

Only issue I found is the size, they still make this prodcuts very bulky! I dont care but I could be a 5stars if the size was more on the small size.

I use them for all of my christmas lights, garlands, etc around the house that are plugged in. Works great, no complaints. Responsive. Exactly what I was looking for. (suggest getting as many plugs as possible, you’ll end up using more than you think!)

However, it is simple and works well. You have the wall-piece that plugs in. It has a light on it indicating that it has power and a button to turn it on and off manually right on the socket. The remote also turns the socket on and off (which is the whole purpose behind it). There is an on/off light on the socket that indicates its status. There is an audible “click” when it is turned on or off. The battery included is a nice touch as many items these days don’t include batteries making it a pain for the first-time setup. As a basic, functional item with a decent price it is pretty good.

We moved into a house that was built with no overhead lighting. We’re out in the woods, so when it gets dark – it’s really dark! These have been a godsend to us. I have a few of these and I also have the other style that has 3 separate plug units with one remote. Perfect for my living room (3 lamps). the remote sits on a small end table just inside the room. We used to trip and fall trying to get to lights, etc. not anymore!

We also use this for Indoor holiday lighting. I have my tree & foyer displays set up on one remote. perfect.

Bonus: For people who wake up during the night (hot flashes, night sweats, etc.), try putting a fan in your room and use one of these… if you wake up, push the button and blast air on you for a minute or two, then push the off switch – without ever getting out of bed! You can go right back to sleep! Wonderful product!

Works Great! Simple and Easy!

Plug it in and it works. Works through several walls and from a distance of 50 ft. They work flawlessly. I was concerned that having two devices in close proximity would interfere with each other, but they don’t. Highly recommended!

It works so well I bought another one for a bedroom lamp, so much easier to reach over and press the button than looking for the turn switch. I would recommend this for anyone with a difficult switch, or perhaps one in a hard to find spot, also it anyone has any issues with their hands such as arthritis.

I wanted to be able to turn it off from the office when I returned. It works like a charm. For some strange reason I turn off the lamp and then pull it out of the light socket at night. It’s next to my bedroom door. You do not have to disconnect it because I have used it both ways and it works great!!!

Note that you have to slide off the cover of the remote to access the battery. Then you have to take the plastic off the battery and replace it in the unit. Then it works!

Today it dropped from my hand, a whopping 3 ft to the top of my socked foot, and no longer works at all. I haven’t yet attempted to contact the company for a replacement, but if they don’t remedy the issue swiftly, this will be the last I deal with them.

Have been using it for a couple of months now. Even bought another for another application. I haven’t had the issue of interference with other signals, but I use this in a house where other sources are probably not near. Instantly turns on. I have it hooked up to a power strip running my Xbox, Apple TV, BluRay, and TV so when I’m finished watching I can simply push the button on the remote and all of my devices lose power. This saves on standby power by preventing the devices from drawing electricity that isn’t really necessary. Of course you want to make sure that all of your devices are already turned off before cutting the power to them! I measured the electrical draw and my setup was using 13 watts of electricity at standby and this device uses only 1 watt. Pretty awesome!

Comes with battery in the pack. The only issue (though not a big one) is that the plug is a bit big in size. So if you plug it in, you cannot use the adjacent wall sockets. But not a big deal though.

I use it to control my hot water circulation pump, on in the morning, off mid morning then on again in the early evening and off after dinner. All without leaving my living room! Works great!

Works as Promised

I use them for all of my christmas lights, garlands, etc around the house that are plugged in. Works great, no complaints. Responsive. Exactly what I was looking for. (suggest getting as many plugs as possible, you’ll end up using more than you think!)

Works even if you control the units from the other room! Only issue I found is the size, they still make this prodcuts very bulky! I dont care but I could be a 5stars if the size was more on the small size.

Ever since Time Warner Cable bought out Insight Communications (near Louisville, KY), I have had my internet connection drop out at least once per day. I have my cable modem plugged into one of these remote power outlet switches so that when my internet connection drops out, I don’t need to go to the basement to powercycle my modem.

I have recessed sockets in my floor so I had to get an extension to plug this into, but once I did it works great. Love the remote – makes it convenient for my living room light and bedroom light that have hard to reach switchs – I just use the remote and they work great.

For some reason our home has very few wall switches and installed lighting. We must use lamps to light our home. It’s pain to go around turning each light off individually (one room has 6 lamps). These make it simple and are a new necessity in our home.I love being able top walk in the front door or any room and use a switch to turn on a light instead of stumbling through the dark to the lamp.

Easy setup, just hold the learning button on the side and choose your button on either remote. Was planning on using at two different locations, but now I think I’ll buy another set. Very convenient.

My daughter has one of those elevated beds so we wanted to have an easy way for her to turn her lamp on/off when she’s up in the bed. This is perfect and the price was right.

Programming is easy, you can have them each on their own channel, or put them two or three on the same channel. I do have a little problem with the second channel sometimes turning on the third channel too, not turning it off, just on. One of the remotes I received is a five channel remote, not sure why I got that, but at least it works. I feel sorry for whoever needed five channels and only got three. Over all, I am very pleased with my purchase, they make life just a little easier!
