Outlet

Can’t Live Without It!

Where I have them plugged into the wall is very inconvenient to unplug and the on/off control is also the volume control on the speakers. It was a real “pain in the tush” to turn them on and off this way; so I got the bright idea to look for remote controlled outlets. I read several reviews on other brands and settled on these. I highly recommend them; the remote is totally “dumb proof” and they work flawlessly!!

I orginally had an older brand that didn’t work half as well. This model doesn’t even have to be programmed – just plug it in.

Plug them in and click and go. HOWEVER, I ordered two and the remotes are both set to the same channel which cannot be changed so I f you turn on A in room A, the second set of A will also turn on. If I turn on A in the living room, A in the bedroom also goes on. Had to send a set back.

They work awesome for lamps or Christmas lights. This last set I bought for my mom. So nice not having to walk around and turn off lamps.

Walking around to turn them on is little cumbersome, so I bought two of these. They worked great, and still are. I installed them in living room (3) and family room (3). The only complaint is that there isn’t a way to change the frequency, so if I turn on lamp 1 in living room, then it would also turn on 1 in family room as well. The work around was that I put two 1′s in living room, and two 2′s in family room. Other than this, I recommend this product.

This little device takes care of that: definitely safer and energy-conserving (mine!) for me. It was extremely easy to set up. I chose this particular remote bc, unlike many others I looked at, does not block both plugs in an outlet. I do agree with other reviewers that the keychain and belt clip do not add anything. I just received this yesterday, so I don’t know how it will last. The transmitter is made of pretty thin plastic, so we’ll see, but right now I’m absolutely delighted every time I use it!

I originally bought them because i have a dvd player in my room that even when i turn it off the fan kicks on every now and then and its pretty noisy, so this solved the problem by killing all power to it. I have the others hooked up to a laptop so the charger isnt charging the laptop all the time and kill the battery. it has worked great and haven’t had any problems.

I have “stations” set for different projects and at the wall I have the remote receiver with task lighting and whatever I need for the project. It is amazing when I walk into the room, I hit #1, #2, or #3 and the station is ready to go. The other set is in my sewing room – you guessed it – Ta da – and it all comes on at once or in each section as needed. Best of all when you hit the off button EVERYTHING goes off! No more running around the room turning this and that on, the remote is small enough to hide or hang by the door entrance. LOVE LOVE IT!

Wonderful Gift For Someone Who Has Had Surgery

We use them for 3 floor lamps that don’t have an on/off switch; we would have to plug and unplug the lamps in order to turn them on/off. This product solves that headache for us. I highly recommend this product.

I will be using it year round to turn out three (actually four) lamps with a single “one, two three”. All three lamps are in hard to reach places and I keep them on all day and until I go to bed, but have to bend and reach to get to the switches (two are on my mantel and are controlled by the same plug-in. Now I just pick up the remote and hit three buttons to turn them on in the morning, three buttons to turn them off at night. LOVE THIS THING! No set up, just aim and press ON. Amazing!

I can control both of them from my bedroom which makes it very convenient if I have to get up late at night. I would recommend this product to anyone who lives in an apartment that doesn’t have sufficient built in lighting and you have to add your own stand up lighting.

I have it set up for a fan, an overhead craft light, and my router. (A bit of an odd combination, but every blue moon I have to reset my router and I grew tired of crawling under the desk.) I’ve had it for almost a month and it’s been trouble-free.

A set was also purchased for my elderly mother. She’s so delighted with it that you’d think I gave her a winning lottery ticket! She loves the convenience and safety aspect of it. When she goes to bed at night, she takes the remote with her. If she wakes up before dawn and can’t get back to sleep, she uses the remote to light her path as she walks to the main part of her home. She’s keenly aware of the danger of falling, so this is a significant benefit to her.

I recently built shelving in our bed room that covered the entire wall above and around the bed. I installed an electrical outlet on top for some soft lighting and I needed a way to turn these on/off easily. I also installed 2 sets of LED lighting under the shelving above the bed headboard and use it also to turn these on and off remotely.

I needed 2 remotes, 1 for my-side of the bed and 1 for the wife’s side. So I bought 2 sets. It would be nice if you could buy an extra remote, but for the price what the heck.

The product works great! Just snip of the key chain as you are not going to want this remote on your personal key chain. I recently bought another set for another room in the house.

I needed it because my husband goes to bed earlier than I. The house is dark when I want to get ready for bed. I can now turn my bedside light on from outside the room without disturbing him.

Easy to Setup, Easy to Use

Easy to setup, easy to use; but more importantly, it just works, PERIOD. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for remote-controled AC options.

I was spoiled in my last home where I could plug stuff into an outlet and it would just flip on with the light switch. So I thought about getting an electrician to come in, but turns out it would be a lot of money, and for $24, I solved my problems, both up and downstairs. I would have gotten the ones with the switches on the wall, but I didn’t want to have a bunch of extra light switches. This actually works perfectly, you can keep the little remote by the door and turn it all on. It so perfect!

I use them to power lights hanging from the ceiling in my studio. Range is decent as well. The remote comes with a battery, so there is no need to order any extra.

We wanted to use these to plug in some lamps in our room so that we didn’t have to get up while we were in bed to turn off the lights. They work perfectly, and they work on the first click every time so far.

It saves having to trip over things to get to the little light across the room. I use this on a light, fan, and laptop power cord. I added a piece of mesh tape next to the light button to make it a little easier to tell which button will turn the light on in the dark. You hear a little click when the outlet turns on/off, but it’s barely noticable. I don’t remember seeing anything about batteries on here, but this one does come with a battery for the remote (I can’t remember what CR number it was, but it’s one of those large button batteries). I’ve had this for about a month and use it daily. Great purchase for my little world.

This makes life so much nicer in my home, as I hate overhead lighting but also hated going all around the room, turning on lamps. Now my lighting is perfect every evening with just the push of three buttons on one device I keep in a central location.

I have one connected to a TV with an Apple TV box and the other two connected to a speaker set and some lighting. I like that within 1 second I can turn everything on or everything off. I also like the fact that, when connected to lighting, you don’t have to stumble around in the dark trying to find the switch.

This wireless remote control works well for us and saves us a lot of extra steps. It even worked outside on the patio, with the door closed, and about 45 feet from the router we wanted to turn on. We have not tested it from a longer distance.

Using these and a variety of other timers, power-conserve surge protectors and other neat home-improvement gadgets. These timers were the most life-altering of the bunch. I bought several packs and hooked them up to lamps by room (e.g. room 1, room 2, room 3) and even surge-protectors used for charging. It was awesome being able to enter the home and have the exact lighting-sceme desired with a push of a button. This was my gateway gadget into Amazon home-improvements.

Soon I had maxed out the scope of upgrades for my girlfriend’a apartment or even my rental house! I needed more! I needed a place to fully utilize all of the new gadgets and life-improvement devices I’d discovered in this vast ocean of gadgetry goodness. It was all started with this simple awesome on-off remote.

When people see my home, with all of its gadgets, they are often more intrigued by the “remote lighting” than just about anything else.

Awesome! No need to toggle stupid lamp switches or plug in christmas tree! Buy a few of these and you can turn on a bunch of stuff around the room with 1 click. Impress yo friends with easy 21st-century living. Quick and easy on-off switch saves time and set the mood in nothing flat.

Works! And Has Some Good Distance!

I have two lights in my living room that I turn on at night to watch TV with. This is a nice little remote and it reaches over 30 feet to the other side of the room. Now if I could just get my Harmony to work with it. lol

I bought this to control power to my swamp cooler without having to get up and reach overhead so often. I removed the grill on the vent, unplugged the motor from the outlet, and plugged this gadget in its place, then reconnected the motor to this controller. SO far its doing fantastic! The fact it can reliably control an inductive load like a fairly heavy cooling fan attests to the device’s ruggedness.

The second device I use to control a lamp in my living room. This works great as I can even control it from the driveway.

Considering using the third to control my porch light, that’s a little more complicated as it means I’ll have to wire my porch light to an outlet. It’s too bad they don’t offer one of these as a contractor special, a sort of plastic box with five wires to attach inside a wall.

My only niggle is the bulky remote. It works ok on my keychain but it’s very large. And it has a BELT CLIP! I mean, who uses a belt clip for something like this? The remote needs to be 1/4 size and sleek so it doesn’t get caught on things. And why does it need an external antenna? Make the metal keychain the external antenna, silly! The battery is easily replaced via a small “drawer” so they at least got that right.

Overall I give it 4 out of five. Fix the remote and it’s about as perfect as you can get short of a remote control that reads your thoughts.

Turns on 1,2 or three lights frm where you sit. Remote can be located when you come into your house and turn any light on (plug type)

I use one at Christmas for our Christmas tree lights, one for our living room lights and one for a lighted display case. They work very well.

The only caution is the battery holder can come loose easily. A little care however is all that’s needed to keep it in place.

On the whole, I like it. I’ve owned about 4 different wireless light controllers in the past and they all expired (stopped working) except for one. The Stanley product looks and feels like good quality. The 3 wall plug-ins are solidly constructed. The 1 remote unit feels like flimsy plastic but sturdy enough. The features on the remote unit like antenna, separate on/off buttons, and easy access CR-2032 battery were nice. The belt clip and key chain can have their use. Since the remote unit is kind of small, I insert my finger in the key ring during operation to prevent it from slipping and dropping on the floor for fear it might crack.

Finally A Product That Does What It Should

We have it placed on several lights around the room my handicapped mother is in and now she can turn on and off lights as she desires. we also sent an additional set down to my aunt in Fla. and she put one on a fan so when she gets hot she can turn it on and off. No problem at all. While I don’t think it should be on anything larger (air conditioner, etc.) it works very nicely for what we are using it for.

We had bought another version of them by a different manufacturer about a year ago but they were very large – you could not plug anything else in a 2-outlet wall plate if the transmitter was there. But this version is much smaller (about a third the size). I would definitely recommend it. The pack we bought is set to Channel 0. Some review had said that you could change the channel if you wanted to use multiple sets but we found that while you can change the channel on the transmitter I was not able to change the receivers (I opened them up to take a look). This isn’t a problem if you only have one set – or a large house!

Used over the holidays on decorations. Makes turning all those lights on and off a breeze. Use them in my bedroom on the lamps. Do not have to get out of bed to turn lights on or off. Goodbye Clapper!!

We use it for the hard to reach lights and it makes life so much easier. The really great option is you can use in three different areas and only have one fob to keep track of. I reccomend this to anyone and everyone!

No set-up or programming required. The items are in the package in a specific order (1, 2 and 3) and all that is required is removing those adapters from the blister packaging. Plug one in the wall, and using the small 1″ x 2″ remote, turn your items on and off. 100′ range is line of site only and probably generous at that. I have one set-up behind 1/2″ plywood and I can get about 25-30′. The line of site is easily 50′ away. Overall, extremely happy with this product given its easy set-up and low price point.

It was sold out in the stores. It was what I had expected and more. I no longer have to run around the house plugging in the candles I have in the windows at Christmas time. With the click of three buttons, I can now turn on all the candles on both floors of my house at one time. Neighbors were amazed at how I was able to light up the candles so quickly. I bought two sets and could turn on all candles using one remote. That was fantastic in itself and I was able to do this from any spot in my house.

It has two switches for on and off function which is not as simple as just one switch. The sender unit has an extendable antenna that makes the unit more reliable when extended. The receiver units are nicely sized making the second socket on a conventional home wall mount socket available for another plug.

Light Me Up Scotty

Before my wife would be climbing over the couch or crawling on the floor behind an end table to plug in the lights… NOW from ONE single device she is able to manage things sitting on the couch, not climbing over it!!

It basically offers convenience. The small remote can be mounted in a central location or carried on a key chain so that the designated lights be turned before entering the house or a room. Very pleased and would purchase again.

I rigged mine up so I have them one in my bedroom, one of parent’s room, and one in the living room. Each has a surge protector connected to it. The wireless works very well, just push one button and it turns on/off. They look very very nice as well, they aren’t too big or anything, they fit perfectly. The only bad thing is the red light always stays on when it’s on/off which is kind of stupid. They should have put a green light when it’s on and red light when it’s off. Not a huge deal, just trying to figure out why. It comes with everything you need to hook it up and your good to go. For the price, I assume this item will pay for itself probably in like 6 months, maybe even less. For the price and ease of use, I definately recommend this product.

I used this to put some cfl lights on top of my kitchen cabinets for a night light without having the kitchen lights ,5 recessed, on all the time. can turn them on and off with the remote from my chair in the living room so I only use the light when I need to go in the kitchen for my nightly snack. if you have a use for a remote light somewhere in your house this is the product to get. I’m ordering another one for another area in my house. It has 4 frequencies so you could have 4 sets . Highly recommended.

It was not so when I plugged a unit into a two wire outlet. The action was erratic. I believe the third wire may act as an antenna, grounded though it is. This may be why a few reviewers had trouble. If all else fails, read the fine instructions!

I’ve only used one receiver but it works great. Simple to use… Plug the receiver in the wall and plug your electronics into it. I’m going to use mine for lights in my plant shelf and above my cabinets. Saves you from having to wire a switch down the wall, and the battery is very easy to change out. (Apparently they must have changed it from previous posts.)There is a little drawer that slides into the bottom of the remote, just slide it out and change it and slide it back in. Now I’ve seen mult strips at Lowes that have the remote with them and they run for $35 to $45 each, I figure if I want to turn an entire row off I’ll just plug a mult Strip into this, it’s grounded too for safety. I’m even considering getting a second one.
